A fast-moving brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near homes in Burbank, prompting evacuation orders for residents above Bel Aire Drive.
Named the Bethany Fire, resident Michael Muravez captured the blaze lighting the Hollywood hills.
The fire quickly spread across 8 to 10 acres of dry hillside but fire crews managed to stop the blaze’s forward progress by evening, though cleanup efforts continued for hours.
Authorities urged the public to avoid the area as investigations into the cause began.
