This courageous little girl has defeated all of the odds in her battle against a very rare genetic condition. At twenty weeks pregnant Ciarra Schultz and her husband Nick found out that their baby was growing at an alarmingly slow pace and was four to five weeks behind in her growth. Summer, who is now four months old, was then diagnosed with Skeletal Dysplasia which affects bone and cartilage development, leading to abnormalities in the shape and size of the skeleton. Ciarra told how an ultrasound revealed that Summer’s skull was hypo mineralised, and her ribs were short, angulated and possibly fractured.
