America is facing some of the most destructive hurricanes on record for Florida with some of the most intense and powerful Atlantic storms on record. 

With winds potentially reaching up to 165 mph (265km/h), Florida is preparing for a Category 5 storm as Hurricane Milton heads for the Gulf coast.

In the wake of the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, Florida residents are once again packing up and evacuating their homes.

The sunshine state is expected to be massively affected with nearly six million people said to be in the potential path of the extreme conditions.

Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld have closed their doors in preparation of the incoming hurricane.

Orlando Airport has ceased operations with fears of the upcoming life threatening winds, storm surge and flash foods. 

Hurricane Helene was one of the most powerful storms ever to hit the United States with wind gust speeds of 140 mph (225 km/h) and heavy rain.
