Diogo Prego from Almancil, Portugal, has cooked for some of football’s biggest names, but it was his work with Mansfield Town that opened the doors to the Premier League.
At 23, he opened his first business, Chouriçaria da Praça, before selling it in 2019 and moving to the Algarve to begin his private chef career.
However, it wasn’t until 2022 that he was contacted by Rúben Dias’ team to work full-time with the Manchester City star.
Even City teammates Bernardo Silva and Matheus Nunes can’t get enough of the chef’s dishes with the pair regularly visiting Dias.
For over a season and a half, Diogo has been preparing Rúben’s meals, and despite the difference in the weather between Manchester and his native Portugal, he describes the experience as ‘spectacular.’
