Captain Beany

This Baked Beans fanatic is set to raise thousands for charity with a unique upside-down Heinz can.

This amazing baked bean can was found to be labelled upside down and is now being sold to raise money for charity.

Captain Beany, 70, from Port Talbot, UK, bought a four pack of Heinz baked beans from his local shop only to find one can was labelled the wrong way up.

The 70-year-old is obsessed with beans, eating five cans a week, amounting to nearly 250 cans a year.

Captain is hoping to sell the can for charity for nearly £6,000 and is fundraising for the British heart foundation.

Captain Beany said: “I purchased the multi pack in Tesco approx. July of 2017 which clearly states best before 09/2019!

“When I was in possession of the multi-pack of Heinz Baked Beans, I was totally ‘blown’ away and couldn’t believe to what I was viewing!

“A one off individual inverted can which clearly displayed the Heinz actual label printed upside down!”

Captain added: “Believe it or not, I contacted customer support at Heinz H.Q inferring to my strange half baked oddity some time ago, and did not receive any communication back at all!”

Captain set a reserve price for the item of £5700 but hopes to reach higher.

He has been an avid fundraiser for the past 40 years and loves to create various madcap charity stunts.

The bean lover even set a record in 1986 for the longest baked bean bath record, as he bathed for one hundred hours in the tub.

Captain added: “I estimate with the very generous public, we have amassed over £250,000 over the span of forty years and not ready to throw in the tin can yet!” He had this to say about the British heart foundation:

The opportunity to further donate to the British Heart Foundation is important to Captain after his

younger brother Peter Kirk died in September 2000, at age 37, of cardiomyopathy.

With the charity and baked beans both being close to his heart, Caption hopes this unique can will sell high for a good cause.
