This woman’s life changed suddenly after believing for months that she was pregnant – before that reality soon faded.
An outpour of medical tests, examinations and also chemotherapy were undergone before learning that she had experienced a rare case of pregnancy – a molar pregnancy.
Priscilla Garcia explained how, in the build up to her 11-week ultrasound scan, she was feeling extremely nauseous and struggled to keep down any food or liquids.

Residing in Clarksville, Tennessee, USA, she was left hugely dehydrated from the constant nausea and as a result, needed a handful of saline bags that inject fluid into the veins.
After her CG (chorionic gonadotropin) levels plummeted and suddenly then risen, Priscilla was referred to an oncologist where she then started chemotherapy.
Seven months post-chemotherapy, Priscilla branded her chemo journey as a relative success after going every two weeks.

The chemo was used to treat for an invasive mole that can be formed in the womb after having a molar pregnancy.
While happy her journey went so well and committed to getting well again, Priscilla still juggles her emotions after her ‘traumatic’ experience.
Molar pregnancy occurs when there’s an issue with the fertilised egg, which forces the baby to not develop the way they should.

Speaking about her molar pregnancy journey, the content creator explained: “About a year ago I took a pregnancy test, and I thought I was pregnant.
“I didn’t have my ultrasound until I was 11 weeks and throughout that time, I was very nauseous.
“That’s one thing I did struggle with; I couldn’t keep down any food or liquid for the two weeks before my ultrasound.
“Once I started with chemo and throughout my entire chemo journey, it went very well, and I went every two weeks.

She added: “I still struggle mentally and emotionally sometimes because it was so traumatic.
“I still get scared whenever I feel pain or abnormal cramping or bleeding because my menstrual cycle struggled to be regular after that.
“But now, I just get to focus on being healthy and appreciating my journey went so well.”
