A spectacular Northern Lights display was set to be visible last night across 10 U.S. states and all of Canada.

The phenomenon, caused by a powerful solar flare on February 25, was predicted light up the skies on March 3 from Washington to Maine, including parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

The best viewing time was between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., with a chance to see colours ranging from green to red, blue, and purple.
