This love-struck woman from Bali to Italy after meeting a man on Hinge.
Holly Marie, from Bali, Indonesia, was looking for love on the popular dating app when she saw Brandon pop up.
Brandon, from Italy, was planning on visiting Bali at the time and decided to extend his love perimeters and see what the island had to offer.
Holly saw his profile and decided to take a punt and reach out to him.
The pair instantly hit it off and after a successful, yet slightly jet-lagged, date in Bali – Hollie decided to fly over to Europe to see him again.
Holly said: “We started speaking at the beginning of February, he had his hinge set to Bali as he was arriving in a few weeks.
“It was so weird because I’d actually gone on hinge to delete it before I saw a comment from a boy that asked me to ruin his life. I was bored and decided to roll with it.”
Holly added: “I really do think I’ve realised if people wanted to do something, they really would.
“I knew him for a super short period of time and decided to fly over to Italy to see him again.”
Hollie and Brandon met online in February and they hit it off straight away, leading to them having their first date in Bali soon after.
Originally, she had no idea that it would go anywhere, due to the long distance, but she says that love found a way and she even planned to make the massive journey over to Italy to see him again.
Three flights later, and with a lot of nerves, Hollie made it over to Europe to meet Brandon and they had a fantastic time soaking in the local sights.
To make the 10-day trip even more special, Brandon asked Hollie to be his girlfriend just three days into the holiday – making the experience one to remember.
Hollie said: “I met him in Bali when he eventually arrived and we honestly hit it off straight away. I feel like we are basically the same person because we have so much in common.
“After he left, we were face timing every single day and because I work remotely and I am my own boss, I had the ability to just pack up for a bit and fly to Italy!
“Honestly, before I met him in Bali, and even when I had met him, I wasn’t actually thinking this was going to go anywhere because we live on the other side of the world.
“So I had prepared myself for a mini heartbreak to never see him again but the second he left for the airport he told me he’d booked his flights back to Bali for the summer and was excited to see me again.”
Holly admitted that leaving for only a 10 day trip left her teary- eyed as she left her best friend and her dog at home in Bali.
She explained: “I live with my best friend and we are together 24/7 so we both had a little cry when I left even though I was only going for 10 days.
“I was super nervous on my final flight (I took three flights) so I ended up buying some drinks on the flight and then had a laugh with the air hostesses as I was telling them about plans.
“For the entire time he was in Bali, he was exhausted from jet lag and constantly doing tourist activities and I was exhausted because I was launching my new business, so actually being able to spend quality time together not rushing around was so lovely.”
Holly said: “I wasn’t even going to post about it but as soon as he asked me to be his girlfriend, I literally thought I should be doing my part to encourage more people to get out of their comfort zones and date out of their hometowns.
“I got such positive feedback from the journey too with loads of girls saying they’d done similar things or just rooting for me in general which was so lovely.”
The dating app Hinge prides itself on its 90% success rate for first dates and claims itself as ‘the app intended to be deleted’, in hopes you’ll find the one.
Holly and Brandon are successfully dating long- distance and are already planning their summer of love.
