A brave free diver risked her safety to save a stranded dolphin trapped in dangerous shallow waters.

Kate Macleod from Isle of Lewis, Scotland, waded through jagged debris to free the struggling animal, but it was too heavy to move alone. After an initial attempt failed, she launched a daring second rescue by canoe—only for the dolphin to outpace her.

Calling in a boat for backup, Kate and her team spent hours guiding the dolphin back to open water, giving it a fighting chance to survive.
