A devoted father and his teenage son have transformed their lives after shedding a combined seven stone, seven pounds in just six months after motivating each other to make a change.
Christopher Cowdrey, from the Isle of Wight, and his son, Devlin, embarked on their weight loss journey in September 2024.
Since then, Devlin has lost three stone while Christopher has dropped an impressive four stone, seven pounds.

The pair went from an unactive lifestyle, filled with comfort eating to walking over 20 miles a week and following a calorie deficit diet, determined to keep each other going.
Christopher said: “Without my son, I wouldn’t have started this journey, he is the one who deserves the credit.
“We had little money so all we could do was walk, and we did that in the ice, floods, cold and darkness. No excuses.”

Christopher, who struggled with mental health issues told how their transformation is about more than just weight loss, it’s about regaining control of their lives.
The pair initially decided to take on the challenge after Devlin was feeling more and more uncomfortable in his skin and Christopher’s mental health took a turn after a toxic break up and his battle with PTSD.
They decided to do it together as they were in similar situations and found that working together helped them stay motivated to achieve their goals.

The father and son duo are doing fantastically with their weight loss but say they are nowhere near done.
With little money, the duo relied on the simplest form of exercise, walking, with them walking over 20 miles a week.
The dad told how working together with his son has helped raise both of their spirits and continues to improve their lives every day.

Christopher said: “We decided to do it together because although we are father and son, we are also best friends.
“Our motivation stemmed from supporting one another and remembering why we started.
“Which was to better our lives and show people there is always hope and a reason to fight.
“Tips on losing weight would be, remember why you started or wanted to lose weight, be consistent, be accountable and no excuses.”
