A fast-growing wildfire in New Jersey has forced the mass evacuations and disrupted traffic throughout the state.

The blaze, dubbed the Jones Road Fire, has scorched 13,500 acres around Ocean County and Lacey Townships, New Jersey, US, as dry vegetation and 25mph winds continue to fuel the blaze.

Fire crews have only managed to bring it down to 50% containment, with over 1,300 structures under threat and damage assessments underway.

Authorities have begun evacuating several structures in the vicinity of the Jones Road Wildfire in Barnegat, New Jersey as the fire continues to burn out of control.
