Scientists have discovered a brand-new colour called ‘Olo’, all by playing a trick on the human eye!
Using a groundbreaking laser-based system called ‘Oz’, UC Berkeley researchers have created a vivid, ultra-saturated blue-green shade that the human eye has never seen before.
The technology stimulates up to 1,000 individual photoreceptors in the eye, creating entirely new visual experiences.
Participants described ‘Olo’ as more intense than anything found in nature, leaving many amazed.
Beyond its visual impact, the Oz platform could help unlock new insights into colour vision, eye disease, and even colour blindness.
