Six Flags has announced it will permanently close two of its parks – Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Maryland – at the end of the 2025 season.

The decision comes as part of the company’s ‘portfolio optimisation program,’ with plans to sell the 500-acre property for redevelopment.

Around 70 full-time employees will be affected, with severance and support offered during the transition.

The final day of operation for both parks is scheduled for November 2, 2025.
