In a heartwarming milestone for wildlife conservation, 21 endangered African penguins were released back into the wild in South Africa. Staff from the Maryland Zoo, including Jenny and Sarah, traveled to assist in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of the seabirds. The team provided intensive care, especially in the nursery, where abandoned chicks needed feeding four times a day. The collaboration highlights ongoing international efforts to save one of the world’s most threatened seabird species.
