Kaliesha Rae from St. George, Utah, suffers from a rare condition known as Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (RCPD), or ‘no-burp syndrome,’ which prevents her from burping and causes extreme bloating.

She describes feeling so bloated that she looks ‘five months pregnant’ and experiences severe discomfort, especially during pregnancy, from the gas buildup.

After years of struggling with painful symptoms like nausea and “air vomiting,” Kaliesha self-diagnosed the condition and found that a treatment involving Botox injections could help relax the muscles in her throat.

Hopeful that the procedure, known as burp surgery, will provide relief, Kaliesha looks forward to a life where she can enjoy normal foods without the agony of constant gas pain.
