This brave little girl has adapted to life by learning to complete everyday tasks without an arm – using her feet instead. Alex Ferris, from Cornwall, England, has captured her daughter’s incredible journey of navigating life as an arm amputee. Her daughter, Darcey, was born with two fingers on her left hand and lost most of her right arm, but she never lost her smile. Darcey was born with blood clots in her shoulders that cut off circulation to her upper limbs, turning them black. Doctors had to remove the affected limbs, and Darcey has spent the early years of her life adapting as an amputee. From combing her hair and eating meals to writing and playing games, Darcey has found ways to do these tasks with her feet. Despite medical challenges, including a seizure, Darcey has always kept a positive outlook. Now, she’s facing a new milestone as she begins learning how to use a prosthetic arm.
