Terrifying tornadoes and severe storms have wreaked havoc across the southern U.S., leaving millions stranded and causing major travel disruptions.

Over the weekend, a three-day tornado triggered more than 970 severe storm reports with Missouri being hit the hardest, with 12 fatalities from the twisters.

Airlines and airports scrambled to manage delays, while ground transportation also faced chaos due to dangerous road conditions.
