Colorado saw its first tornadoes of 2025, with storms striking the northeastern plains and areas such as Strasburg and Bennett County.

While tornadoes are rare in cities like Denver, they’re not uncommon across the state as residents capture the terrifying footage of the twisters filling the skies.

The National Weather Service says Colorado averages 53 tornadoes a year, with most occurring between May and August, particularly east of I-25.

Experts warn that the recent storms likely won’t be the last this season.
