This woman revealed how her journey to lose weight resulted in more negative results than positive as she told how she nearly died and became infertile.
Hannah Clare Edwards from Sydney, Australia, was diagnosed with osteoporosis and perimenopause as a direct result of her losing weight.
She told how she got herself into a medical disaster after being ‘scared of food.”

Hannah, desperate to lose weight, told how she became obsessed with calorie counting and the types of food she was eating.
However, her obsession quickly became dangerous as her hormone levels started to drop.
Following this, she explained that she was told she was going through the menopause in her 20s, a much younger age than usual.
Along with this, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis due to her low hormone levels taking a toll on the strength in her bones.
She said: “I thought about food 24/7.
“I planned what I would eat a week in advance and would not allow any life movements to stray me from that.”

Since her diagnosis, Hannah made multiple changes and started to gain weight but still faced a long list of problems.
She said: “So, I’m really sensitive to the cold because my circulation is poor. I have lots of digestive issues. I have an overactive bladder.
“So many things, my blood pressure, all that that is, my doctor thinks is because of my low hormone.”
“I finally just started HRT and I’m just going to document and just share what I’m going through.
“I have the Estrogen gel which I am taking every day and then I have progesterone tablets that I take for two weeks after two weeks.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s really overwhelming.”

Hannah’s doctor monitored her hormone levels and they were premenopausal as her body wasn’t producing hormones anymore.
As a result, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 25-years-old because and had a lot of other health issues that she claimed were most likely to be from her ‘almost non existent hormone levels’.
She said: “For a long time, gaining weight was the absolute worst possible thing that could ever happen to me, but things changed and I gained weight.
“The world didn’t end.
“Ironically my world nearly ended from organ failure because I was so scared of food.”

Hannah added: “The idea of gaining weight is scary but remember, it doesn’t happen overnight.
“My weight gain was so gradual that I didn’t even realise it was happening.
“It wasn’t easy but neither was the life I was living.
“There’s so much pleasure to be had from food freedom.”
