A woman has revealed that she’s spent the last few years collecting 30,000 strands of her own hair – and has ambitious plans of reaching 100,000!
What started as a fun thing to do during the lockdown period soon turned into an unusual yet intriguing hobby.
Oliva Anderson is now four years into her hair collecting journey and has steadily tracked her progress by posting multiple clips of her collection to TikTok – drawing in almost 500,000 followers.

She told of her ambitious plans to reach 100,000 strands of her hair which will enable her to complete a project she’s always dreamt about.
Residing in Horley, Surrey, UK, the self-proclaimed ‘hair collection queen’, said: “I started about four years ago in the first year of lockdown.
“I started as like a hobby for something to do in lockdown. When I started, I didn’t know I’d be four years down the line; I didn’t know that it was going to keep going.”

Olivia unveiled her grand plans of making her own wig using her own strands of hair – stressing the importance of the need to keep adding to her collection.
Throughout the past four years Olivia has avoided the hairdressers as much as possible after having only three haircuts during that period of time.
However, as time went on and social media page grew larger, Olivia begun to reveal that she was the person behind the collection and began to ask her hairdressers to not throw away her hair that was cut off.

While the general reception online about her hair collection is positive, she has also been met with opinions of users who have thought the hobby was weird or questioning the point of the collection.
Talking further about her collection, Olivia explained: “It’s still very much a shock to some people to see the face behind the hair.
