This savvy woman managed to thrift her elegant wedding dress for $25.
Julia Stern, from Jupiter, Florida, USA, was an avid thrifter and set on a mission to find a beautiful, budget-friendly wedding dress at the thrift store.
After documenting the process on her TikTok channel, she found her winner in the form of a white, flowy gown with a bow on the back.
She said: “I knew that I wanted to thrift my wedding dress ever since I didn’t thrift my prom dress, because that’s always been a regret of mine.
“The thrifter always has the most beautiful gowns you could ever find or want.”
The speech-language pathologist admitted that she has been thrifting for over a decade and claimed that her wardrobe is 95% thrifted.
Julia showcased the array of wedding dresses on offer at the thrift store including vintage designs, regal styles, beautiful beading and even short dresses.
The search for her dream dress took around seven months of consistent thrifting but that was no problem for Julia, who visits the thrift store up to two to three times a week.
The bride showcased her $25 dress at her wedding in Casa Feliz, Orlando, Florida, and admitted that none of her guests were surprised at her second-hand dress.
She said: “My guests were not that surprised when they heard that I thrifted my wedding dress, because they know how much I love thrifting.
“They were very surprised when they found out the price, because $25 is just ridiculous, especially because the dress looks so much more expensive.
“My guest said that the dress was very elegant, beautiful, timeless – all the things that they kind of expected for me to have in my dress.”
The bride explained: “It was perfect – fit me like a glove.
“I had to get the straps tailored just a tiny bit, and then I got it cleaned and steamed and pressed.
“Other than that it’s my dream dress, $25 from the thrift store.
“This is your sign to thrift your wedding dress.”
