This mum was left shocked when what she thought was a routine trip to the bathroom ended with her delivering her baby boy.
Hannah Tharp, from Dothan, Alabama, USA, recalls waking up the day of the birth with no pain, contractions or any warning signs.
When talking about the experience she said: “I did plan on labouring at home for as long as I could.
“I screamed to my husband that our child was coming over the toilet.”

Hannah felt a small pop and thought maybe her water had broken, but with no agonising pain or signs that the birth was imminent, she didn’t see anything wrong with quickly going to the toilet first.
However, as soon as she sat down things began to progress rapidly.
Hannah came to the terrifying realisation she was not going to make it to the hospital.

She screamed for her husband’s help, where he ran in and managed to catch the new baby before it fell into unhygienic toilet.
After this they were rushed to the hospital to cut her umbilical cord and perform the standard health checks on mother and child.
Hannah welcomed a happy healthy baby into the world in a less than conventual way, and now she and her family are happily settling into life back at their home.

She explained: “I did plan on going natural and labouring at home for as long as possible before going to the hospital.
“Little did I know I wouldn’t make it there.
“I felt literally no pain at all, but I heard a little pop and thought my water might have broken. ‘I sat on the toilet because I felt like I had to go.
“I screamed to my husband that our child was coming over the toilet.
“He caught him; my husband caught him.
“I didn’t cut the cord until we got to the hospital.
“He was healthy I was healthy, and all was good.”
