New York photographer, Asher Uchiyama, captured breathtaking shots of the iconic NYC Manhattan Henge and gave his top tips to get the perfect shot.

Manhattanhenge is a stunning twice-yearly event when the setting sun perfectly aligns with New York City’s east-west street grid, creating a breathtaking framed sunset.

From late May to mid-July, viewers can catch the sun between the city’s skyscrapers along major streets like 14th, 34th, and 57th, or from spots like Tudor City Overpass and Hunter’s Point South Park.

This unique urban spectacle happens because Manhattan’s grid is rotated 30 degrees from true north, shifting the alignment days away from the equinoxes.
