Meet the person who from the age of seven years old knew they wanted to be a female – prompting the start of her transition.
Charley Elizabeth was aware from a very early age that she wanted to be viewed as a female which led to her starting her transition at the age of seven.
While four years later, the 21-year-old began to have gender-affirming hormone therapy in a bid for her to gain the characteristics of the gender she desired.
Residing in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, Charley said: “I started transitioning at seven, but I did not start taking hormones, blockers, or surgeries until I was 11.
“I also was not put on oestrogen until I was 15, so my body sat with no hormones from 11 to 15 so this very much contributed to my body’s development.
“When I was put on oestrogen, I was put on the lowest dose that can possibly be administered.”
The natural development for a typical teenager is something Charley never experienced after being placed on the smallest amount of oestrogen available to her and having little testosterone.
She also revealed that she didn’t have any physical surgeries until she was 18.
These factors contributed to her not actually experiencing puberty until she was 20 years old – years after the average age of what people experience puberty.
Charley also told that due to her decision to transition from an early age, it has ‘saved her’ from requiring to have many forms of her surgery to complete her new look.
For the past few months, Charley said that she has high testosterone levels which because of this, requires her to have some surgery in the near future, such as voice feminisation surgery.
