North Carolina is preparing for heavy rain, with eastern areas already receiving 2 to 4 inches, prompting a flash flood warning.

The National Weather Service warns of life-threatening flash flooding in creeks, streams, highways, and urban areas.

As the storm system moves northward throughout the week, it will bring flood risks to the Mid-Atlantic.

The same system caused severe weather over the weekend, including tornadoes in Florida, which left significant damage in Destin and Esto.
