In an eyebrow-raising revelation, Aussie woman Meghan McTavish, 39, from Brisbane, Queensland, has shared the bizarre story of how her parents refused to remove photos of her and her ex-husband from the family wall – despite the couple having split two years ago!
Shockingly, it wasn’t just Meghan who had been left in this awkward situation. Her sister, also divorced, found that their family’s photo gallery still featured their former spouses in pride of place.

Speaking out, Meghan explained: “Weirdly, I was so used to seeing the photos that it didn’t dawn on me they were still up until now, two years after separating.”
When the sisters confronted their parents about the unusual decor choice, they were met with an unexpected response. The parents defended their decision, calling the old family snaps ‘happy memories’. Meghan, however, has been patient with their reluctance to change.

“Our eldest brother passed away suddenly a few years ago, so I think that’s why we’ve both been relatively gentle in asking our parents to take the photos down,” Meghan revealed.
Despite the awkwardness, Meghan maintains a friendly relationship with her ex, noting: “They were happy I was moving on. Ultimately, it was the best decision for our son, myself, and my ex-husband. We’re still on good terms – just not meant to be married.”

But the headline-grabbing moment came when Meghan delivered a witty remark on the situation: “Marriage is temporary, wedding photos are forever!”
As readers continue to weigh in on whether these nostalgic snapshots are sweet or simply strange, it’s clear this family saga is far from over!
