After this woman bravely donated her hair to charity before starting chemotherapy, her best friends surprised her with a heartfelt gift – a new wig.
Erin Lavery, 21, from Glasgow, Scotland, had her life turned upside when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma – a rare blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system is a network of vessels, tissues, and organs that helps the body maintain fluid and fight infection.
With the unwavering support of her family, friends, doctors and dog Murph who fought cancer by her side – Erin managed to get the all clear and ring the cancer-free bell.
Erin’s symptoms began with a persistent cough, but as a sufferer of childhood asthma she first assumed it had returned.
However, as time passed, the symptoms worsened as a lump appeared in her neck, alongside night sweats, fatigue, breathlessness, and vision problems.
It wasn’t until Erin’s parents insisted on a doctor referral that she received the life-changing diagnosis.
But instead of despair, she and her family chose to share their journey openly.
