Checkout this scary footage of an Alabama tornado just miles away and approaching the Athens neighbourhood.
Resident Colby Morrell captured the moment as the twister was two miles east of Bucees – off of Huntsville Brownsferry and Greenbrier Parkway.
The powerful EF2 tornado prompted a rare Tornado Emergency for Huntsville, Madison, and Athens in northern Alabama, as reports state that nearly 500,000 residents were affected.
The storm caused significant damage, including uprooted trees, destroyed roofs, and downed power lines.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and emergency services responded swiftly to assist affected communities.
