Checkout the scary moment a Michigan resident captured the powerful storm and lightning that lit up the skies.

Amid the storm, Michigan experienced one of its most active tornado seasons, with 25 tornadoes confirmed since May 17.

This is five times higher than the state’s usual tornado count by this time of year, though the state is still far from the record of 39 tornadoes set in 1974.

As Michigan moves into June, the state faces the likelihood of more severe weather, but fortunately, most tornadoes so far have been on the weaker side.
