A tornado was confirmed near Norman, Oklahoma, prompting urgent shelter warnings from the National Weather Service.

Jessica King captured the terrifying storm forming in the skies.

While the immediate tornado threat later decreased, a warning remains in effect as damaging winds continue to pose a danger.

The storm is part of a larger system triggering a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for over 3.8 million people across Oklahoma and southern Kansas.

Norman, no stranger to springtime severe weather, was last hit by an EF2 tornado in February 2023.
