Severe storms battered west-central Texas on Monday, bringing heavy rain, hail, lightning, and wind gusts up to 80 mph.

In Abilene, local news station KTXS was knocked off the air after the storm hit, collapsing part of the building and toppling its broadcast tower.

Meteorologist Caiden Dinkins captured the aftermath after she had warned viewers to take shelter just before the impact.

The destruction left the community stunned, with fellow broadcasters expressing support for the KTXS team.
