Train services in and around Baltimore were suspended this morning following a massive fire at a vacant mattress warehouse on West Lanvale Street.

The fire broke out Monday night on West Lanvale Street, leading to the evacuation of 30 residents and the deployment of over 200 firefighters to battle the blaze.

Amtrak service was partially restored by 7 a.m., but MARC commuter trains on the Penn Line remained canceled due to concerns over the potential collapse of the warehouse onto the tracks.

The fire, which involved stored mattresses, caused thick smoke to billow from the multi-story building, but was contained by the morning.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with crews continuing to address hotspots.
