A photographer has captured the dramatic moment a turtle narrowly escaped becoming this shark’s dinner.
Dylan DeHaas, from Perth, Australia, was flying his drone around Coral Bay, Western Australia, when he noticed a commotion in the water.
He says that he thought it was dolphins causing a fuss in the ocean, however, it turned out to be a huge tiger shark attempting to eat a turtle for its dinner.
Dylan added: “This large tiger shark was trying to catch the turtle, which is their favourite food on the Ningaloo Reef.
“However, the turtle has evolved with such predators and managed to use its shell to protect itself from being grabbed by the shark. “
The turtle eventually got away as the tiger shark gave up trying. “It may be hard to watch and everyone usually cheers for the turtle, but at the end of the day, the tiger shark needs to eat. “That’s just the circle of life in our oceans.”
