A sudden ‘pollen bomb’ struck London over the bank holiday weekend, catching residents off guard with symptoms like red eyes, tight chests, and brain fog.

Despite the Met Office forecasting low pollen levels, people reported choking on visible clouds of pollen in parks across the city.

The outbreak was so intense that even those without hay fever said they were affected.

Experts believe the surge was caused by a combination of blooming plane trees, high humidity, and low rainfall – ideal conditions for pollen spread.
