Grant Thomas, 32, is an expedition photographer and has been going to Tonga for over 10 years to photograph animals. The amazing footage show the mother and calf travelling through the water during the whale migration period. The photographer also claims the location the photos are taking in is one of the most popular birthing locations in the world for these whales. Grant said: “I’m always in awe when we have an interaction with a humpback whale, these huge animals are genuinely curious and intrigued by us in the water. “Thousands of humpback whales come here to mate and give birth every year, we are lucky enough to be able to get in the water with these amazing animals.”
