This teen model has told how a strand of hair on her forehead has caused people to “feel sick” – but she loves it.

Rada Prelevic has a unique strand of hair on her forehead which has prompted negativity from trolls online, but she claims it has helped her career.

She has been scolded by the media for the lone strand on her forehead and says she is proud of her appearance.

Rada, from Flekkefjord, Adger, Norway, said: “For my whole life, everybody would ask me questions like ‘What is this weird thing on your forehead?’ or ‘Why do you have hair on your forehead?’, ‘Why don’t you cut/laser it?’

“It makes me really sad that people are so bothered by it.

“I love my forehead hair, and have never thought about it as an ugly or weird thing, and never even thought about cutting it.”

Rada first noticed the stray lock of hair on her forehead when she was a young child, in Kindergarten (pre-school), and she thought it was something that everyone had.

However, after the kids in her class started pointing out her strand of hair and asking about it, she soon realised she was unique.

After leaving school, Rada decided to move onto modelling and has now taken part in multiple photoshoots for model agencies.

However, not all of the agencies were as supportive of the lone strand and some have even asked her to laser the hair off.

Rada posts about her story online and does sometimes find the negative comments incredibly upsetting.

However, she also finds that some users love her hair as much as she does and it motivates her  to continue her modelling career and show off her unique hair.

She said: “It has definitely helped with modelling.

“Everybody thinks it’s so special and unique.

“They use it as an accessory, and they love it, especially the hairstylists”

Rada added: “I try really hard not to listen to the negative comments and try to listen to the positive comments, even if it’s not always easy.

“Everyone has their dark days and that’s when the negativity hits the hardest.

“I also love people who see it as I do, like a special and unique thing and I love that so many people see inspiration in what I post on my TikTok page.”

Rada knew she was special even from a young age and was always reassured by her parents’ love for her unique hair.

However, her mother was concerned as she got older and feared it may affect her mental health, but luckily for her Rada only ever saw it as a positive.

She said: “I try to explain to people that having things that nobody else has is not weird, but special and unique, and that you should love yourselves for who you truly are.”

Rada’s journey proves that embracing your uniqueness is the ultimate form of self-love, as she  inspires others to celebrate what makes them one-of-a-kind.
