A woman who suspected her boyfriend of cheating went to extreme lengths to catch him in the act—by catfishing him with a fake number and pretending to be his mistress.

Cynthia Loya, 28, from Texas, USA, had already caught her boyfriend being unfaithful once but decided to give him another chance. However, determined to test his loyalty, she set up a secret trap.

Speaking about the ordeal, Cynthia said: “I downloaded a fake texting app, made a fake number, and texted my boyfriend. When I found messages with the other girl, I studied how she used her emojis so I could text like her.”

Her plan worked instantly. When she messaged him pretending to be the other woman, he quickly responded—telling the fake number they had to keep their relationship a secret from his girlfriend. Little did he know, he was actually texting Cynthia the whole time.

To see who he truly valued more, she took things one step further. While on a phone call with her boyfriend, she messaged him as the other woman, asking to meet up. Without hesitation, he agreed.

He even tried to end the call with Cynthia, lying that he had to go “help his brother.”

Determined to confront him, Cynthia jumped in her car and drove straight to his house, revving her engine to make her arrival known. But instead of admitting guilt, her boyfriend flipped the situation on her.

“He was like, ‘I knew it was you this whole time. I know you’re crazy—I just wanted to see if you were going to come,’” she recalled.

Despite catching him red-handed, Cynthia shockingly took him back—only to catch him texting the same woman just a week later.

“I got my stuff and left his house. I can’t believe I allowed myself to go back and forth that many times,” she admitted.

Now, fully healed from the experience, Cynthia has cut ties with her ex for good, warning others not to ignore their gut instincts when it comes to love and loyalty.
