A woman left a group of her husband’s friends shocked and impressed when she showed off her monster 23-year-old hairball.
Divina Burnell unveiled her bizarre creation which looked more like a small animal than a hairball in jaw-dropping footage that was filmed by her daughter, Monica Puddy.
Monica witnessed the unbelievable event in Australia last month and explained that her mum has been showing off the bizarre creation for years.
In the shocking footage, Divina laughs as she unveils the hairball to shocked reactions, and she jokes that she’d struggle to chose between her partner and her hairball if she had to pick one, before the hairball leaves to a round of applause.
Monica, who, like her mum, is originally from the Philippines, said: “We were having dinner at my mum’s house with some of my step dad’s friends and my mum brought out her pride and joy – her 23-year-old hair collection.
She has been showing people this hairball for years – when I was a little girl, I would have friends sleep over, and she would always bring it out.
“My mum loves the shock people have and finds it hilarious.
“Everyone was very shocked as per usual and it’s funny to see the different reactions.”
Monica explained that the hairball began in a fairly understandable way – her mum was trying to stop hair from clogging up the drain of her shower.
She explained: “It started with her saving hair from going down the drain when washing her hair. She would stick it on the wall of the shower and wait for it to dry, she one day thought to put it in a bag and collect it.
“It is only her hair, saved from the shower and from when she combs it after washing it. It’s not made up of stray hairs from the floor.
“I am very neutral about it since I’ve grown up seeing it, but it is always shocking to see the sheer size of it and the proud look on her face gets me every time. I love the thrill of seeing what people think too.”
As you can imagine, the video did not go unnoticed when Monica posted it to TikTok, and it divided the internet with a mix of disgusted and impressed reactions.
Monica added: “There has been a wide spectrum of opinions – people with hair phobias have been horrified and others have been impressed and eager to start their own hair balls, which I think is hilarious.
“My favourite comments are the ones saying they love my mum’s personality because she truly is the life of the party. I adore her and the pride she has in her collection.”
